Share Your World – 2015 Week #29

In response to Cee’s Photography, Share Your World tag.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Either David Copperfield or a magician. Read more in my previous post here.

What was your favorite food as a child? Do you eat it now?

Cheese. Usually Kraft pre-packed slices. I still eat a lot of cheese, but I seldom buy pre-packed slices anymore. I go for fresh cheese; the kind that expires in a week or two.

I do not usually take photos of cheese, so here is a picture of cheesecake, my absolute, all-time-favourite dessert.

cheese cake from artisan boulangerie co.

Lap cheong, a Cantonese style Chinese sausage, is also a childhood favourite. I do not eat this anymore because I find it too fattening. To my surprise, I found that they are now sold on Amazon!

Apollo Milk Chocolate Waffles is one of the best childhood snack. You could check them out here. I still eat them once in a blue moon. I still love them.

Canned food in general is amazing in my childhood. My favourite canned food was Narcissus brand pork that includes the pork mince with bean paste, spiced pork cubes and stewed pork chops. My mouth is watering now as I scroll through the pictures here. I do not eat canned food anymore because I find them too unhealthy.

If you were invisible, where would you go?

I hardly entertain such thoughts as I prefer to indulge more in what is achievable.

The moon. I would sneak into a spacecraft and travel to the moon. On second thought, I cannot do that even if I were invisible because I need a spacesuit! I cannot get a spacesuit unless I am certified. Even if I could get a spacesuit and the spacesuit is also invisible, I would have to undergo all the training for months and years secretly to be fit for the mission.

Maybe I would just choose the simple option of getting on a plane to Maldives.

Would you rather forget everyone else’s name all the time or have everyone forget your name all the time?

The latter.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

My new water heater and really, the fact that I could afford to have it replaced at short notice. Read the story in my previous Share Your World response.

I also had an unexpected event this week, which makes me extremely grateful for four persons. Let’s call the four people A, B, C, and D.

I left my handphone at work, and A found it. A was kind and smart enough to telephone B immediately. I was so lucky because B was traveling home with me, and so A managed to contact me. I was then twice blessed because I asked A to pass my phone over to C, and C happened to be still around at work. C lives near me. So it was that A gave my phone to C and C brought it all the way back to where I was staying.

Not to mention, D drove me a little way further than usual so that I did not have to walk to meet C. D was giving B and me a lift home.

Thank you very much, the universe, and all the kind souls in my life. I am sorry for what I might have done inadequately. Please forgive me. I love you.

Enjoy!
